Course Overview

This course is specifically designed to focus as equally on knowledge as it does on practical skills. It is for nature enthusiasts who are looking to start their professional career as lodge naturalists or freelance nature guides. We will equip you with the skills to lead any wildlife safari activities or wilderness excursions that India could offer. We sincerely hope that the person who undergoes this training with superior skills will be able to contribute to bringing people and the rest of nature closer.

With a mixture of classroom sessions and practice walks and drives, the course is designed to suit both newcomers and seasoned guides who want to sharpen their skills and gain expert knowledge from industry giants.

This program is designed to impart every element of what is required to be a great  safari guide. You will learn guest interaction - how to read individual and group dynamics to ensure you deliver a well-rounded experience. You will learn how to deliver the most professional and fun guided experience whilst driving, being driven, or as a walking leader. Participants will spend time learning various natural history topics and learning about tools with which to continue improving their knowledge. The training will be led by the core Nature Guides Academy team with keynote instructors who are all industry experts on a variety of specialisms. 

MODULES

PROFESSIONAL NATURE GUIDING

This will be the most important Module of this whole training course! We will be covering some of the most sensitive details of  what guiding is, who is a nature guide/ naturalist, how to design and conduct a nature activity, the basic skills of a nature guide, understanding your guests/tourists, the art of storytelling, practical &  best guiding techniques, and much more.
